What Motivates Others?

Don’t talk.  Just listen.  Listen to the words others speak so that you can find out what makes a person tick.

Today, the mastermind identifies that it is the responsibility of the leader to help other individuals realize the emotions that cause them to take action toward their goals.  Knowledge of what motivates others will benefit you as a leader, and guide you to lead those who are following you.  Napoleon Hill says that you cannot ask anyone to do something without adequate motive. Finding out what motivates your team is the key to building a harmonistic and productive business environment.

Imagination and Mental Attitude

Imagination and mental attitude go hand in hand.  If you have a positive mental attitude then your imagination will benefit you.  On the other hand, a negative state of mind will yield a bleak imagination that produces an undesirable outcome.

Napoleon Hill admonishes misuse of imagination like imagining getting something for nothing or assuming knowledge without experience or skill.  It is important to stay away from the negative mentality that causes the snowball effect of unproductive thinking and behaviors.  We do this by consistently self-analizing what causes or motivates us to take action and/or not take action. When we identify the triggers of advantageous and harmful attitudes and practices, we can then adjust our code of conduct toward being champions in our chosen field of endeavor.

Creating a Habit

The mastermind discusses the power of habit as they share their ideas of how long it takes to create new thinking patterns that support the development of profitable behavior.  After analyzing the process of creating a new productive neural pathway, the mastermind agrees that it takes 40 days to create a habit.  When you practically apply the success principals explained in The Law of Success you need to go through the experience of turning points and overcoming challenges in order for the new habit to really become a part of your daily routine.  It is the spiritual experience of winning despite contrast that will imbed the success habits in the mind.

Out with the Old, In the the New!

Everyday, the mastermind is getting better in every way.  More and more leaders are emerging because they are more conscious of their old blueprint when it rears its ugly head.  These individuals are ready to replace the old with new thinking patterns and success habits.  Remaining persistent in the approach towards a definite purpose is the key to completely purging unproductive behavior.

Just keep going!  Every day is a new day to become a better, more creative you!

Color Pride

Participants of the mastermind take pride in knowing their respective personality color. It’s an amazing feeling to have a better understanding of your identity! Let’s not forget that discovering a  dominant personality color is only part of the growth process in learning how to interact with others.  It’s important to remember that ideally all four motives (Power, Intimacy, Peace, Fun) should be equally expressed by an individual.  This is where the work begins.

Now that you know the personality traits of your dominant color can you name the traits of the other three? What would happen if you memorized the characteristics of the other colors?  Recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of the other core motives would greatly advance your personal and professional life because the new knowledge will empower you to move through all situations in perfect harmony.  Give your life a boost today by taking pride in learning about the traits that are not as present in your personality.  Familiarizing yourself with how others tick will make you an effective and productive communicator thus activating the adequate motive required to realize all achievement.

The Creative Process

While listening to Level 2 Training, the mastermind was asked to create something with one blank sheet of paper. We had 6 minutes to generate any object or illustration that we desired.  The simulation of creating something from nothing yielded many feelings and thoughts from members of the mastermind. In addition, some interesting observations where revealed at the conclusion of the exercise.

Three types of behaviors were revealed after the exercise: Individuals who immediately knew their creation before the time started, those who improvised their creation as the allotted time passed, and those who did not create anything at all. Use your ability to self analyze to find out which behavior you identified with and determine if you are comfortable with your performance.

When instructed to stop at the end of the assigned time, the majority of those who did not finish their creation felt negative emotion as a result.  This example exposed the adverse effects that putting a stop to the creative process has on the mind.

When you stop focusing on your definite purpose and the things that you want you are virtually stopping yourself from creating.  It’s all about focusing on the right things that make you feel elated every day to keep you productive and moving forward.  Your ability to create activates the Law of Attraction – a friend that will always give you an advantage when you allow it.
